Weather forecaster

In the hot season, it is important to keep a close eye on expected weather conditions, and consider how these are likely to affect your cows heat load.

The Cool Cows Weather Forecaster tool provides up-to-date heat load information specific to your region, helping you prepare for any potential ‘meltdown’ events in the coming week. We recommend that you use this tool regularly during the hot season (The tool is operative from 1 Oct to 31 March).

Subscribe to our E-mail alert service

A free E-mail alert service is also available to all dairy farmers through the Cool Cows website from 1 Oct to 31 March. This provides subscribers with automatic notification via their preferred e-mail address, whenever a period of potentially high or extreme heat stress is forecast within the next week for a selected location.

Cool Cows field days

A series of 30 Cool Cows field days were held on dairy farms across Australia in Jan - March 2009, receiving very positive feedback from participating dairy farmers. More Cool Cows field days are planned for the 2009 - 2010 hot season.
